More than Muscle
Steroids produce severe acne and scarring, water retention and swelling, and high blood pressure. Steroid use has been linked to both liver and kidney tumors. Most all steroid users report problems with nausea, vomiting, muscle cramping, and diarrhea. In men, steroid use is responsible for shrinking of the testicles, reduced sperm count, infertility, development of breast and pattern baldness. In women, steroid use is responsible for growth of facial hair, deepening of the voice, adverse changes in the menstrual cycle, and pattern baldness.
