Coke. The Real Deal
Cocaine is considered the largest drug threat in Mississippi. Cocaine is known to cause heart attacks, strokes, and seizures. Use of cocaine causes paranoia, anxiousness, and quick and violent mood swings--even when the abuser is not high. Mixing cocaine with alcohol creates "cocaethylene" and results in more drug-related deaths than any other mixture. In 2000, 2.7 million people in the U.S. reported being addicted to cocaine. Americans spent $35.3 billion on 259 metric tons of cocaine in 2000.
